Safety & Security at St. Mary

Security Information

The St. Mary Medical Center Security Department staffs uniformed officers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Security can be reached by dialing extension 3932 or “0”. Emergency telephones are on every level of the parking garage and every elevator has a telephone that rings directly to the security dispatcher.

For any questions or concerns regarding parking, your vehicle, visitation, personal items or safety you can contact us anytime that is convenient for you. St. Mary Medical Center is committed to providing a healthy and safe work environment for our patients, visitors and staff. Our goal is to maintain a safe and secure environment, to protect staff, patients and visitors from harm, and to protect the organization's property.

St. Mary Medical Center Security Department ensures a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, medical staff and employees. We are dedicated to this goal through a commitment to "Make the Situation Better" by the quality of what we do and our attitude toward it as well. The successful achievement of this goal requires that we utilize not only constant vigilance and teamwork but also a pledge to treat those we serve with a high degree of fairness, compassion and concern for their welfare.

The Security Department is an integral part of the total hospital system and has the responsibility to work harmoniously with the other hospital departments, professionals and ancillary services in coordinating and improving patient care services.

Patients are encouraged to leave all valuables and personal property at home. The hospital does have a patient property storage room and safes to secure valuables during your admission. Patients are encouraged to lock these items with security for safekeeping.

  • Do not leave gifts or packages visible inside your vehicle.
  • Do not leave items such as cell phones, mp3 players, navigation devices & compact disks visible in your room while you are sleeping or away from the floor.
  • Patients & visitors are encouraged to report suspicious persons by dialing extension 11. There are no trivial calls; all calls are investigated.

For most patients, the St. Mary Medical Center experience starts with finding a parking space and then finding their destination on campus. The closer these two locations are to each other, the easier it is for the patients and visitors. If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact the Security Department.
