Breastfeeding Assistance

St. Mary Medical Center's Maternal Health Services has a Lactation Educator available in the Postpartum Department 7 days a week. The Educator assesses patients immediately following delivery and visits patients everyday until discharge. If  additional support is needed the Lactation Educator can be paged to provide assistance with patients' breastfeeding needs. There are breastfeeding pumps available and Public Health Nurse referrals if a home visitation is deemed necessary for breastfeeding support.

Spanish and English Lactation classes are held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 9:00 pm once a month. To register, please call 1-888-4STMARY, (888-478-6279).
