Clinical and Pathology Diagnostic Support
St. Mary Medical Center Medical Center, Department of Pathology & Laboratories is licensed by the State of California, Department of Health Services, accredited by the College of American Pathologists, and is CLIA Certified. The Laboratory provides clinical and anatomic pathology diagnostic laboratory support to physicians treating patients at St. Mary and the adjacent Medical Office Buildings.
The St. Mary inpatient laboratory is operational 7 days/week, 24 hours/day for required services, and provides the equipment, supplies and technical personnel necessary to support the testing for the diagnosis, treatment and management of our patients. St. Mary's Department of Pathology and Laboratories are under the direction of a Board Certified Pathologist and all sections are under the general direction of the Administrative Director.
For services not provided onsite, the laboratory refers testing to various reference laboratories, which are accredited by the College of American Pathologists, CLIA Certified and is approved by St. Mary's Medical Staff.
The Laboratory is comprised of two major sections, the Clinical Laboratory and Anatomic Pathology. The clinical laboratory is located on the second floor of the hospital and it occupies approximately 2,500 square feet. The Pathology offices and office of the Director are also located on the second floor. The St. Mary Medical Center and Medical Center laboratory includes the following sections:
- Blood Bank
- Anatomic Pathology
- Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing
Outpatient Hours of Operation:
St. Mary Outpatient Office hours of operation are:
Monday – Friday: 7:00 am – 5:30 pm
Saturday: 7:00 – 11:00 am
All outpatients must register in Admitting located on the first floor of the hospital prior to coming to the laboratory.
