I am proud to say that I am a true native of Long Beach and attended elementary and high school here. When it was time for me to settle into medical practice, I returned to Long Beach and live near where I grew up. My four children attend the local Long Beach schools and I consider myself very lucky to have been able to come back to the hometown which I love, and to work at St. Mary Medical Center. The spiritual presence at the hospital and the dedication of the medical staff are everything I expect in my career. I actually feel that I have two families, one at home and one at work.
I have been a practicing anesthesiologist at St. Mary for the past 20 years. I currently serve as the Medical Director of the Department of Anesthesiology and am the President of Long Beach Anesthesia Medical Group. Much of my time is spent on Labor and Delivery where I provide anesthesia services to our many expectant mothers.
Long Beach is a wonderful city in many ways. It is a "beach city" atmosphere that is very family-friendly. I also like that it is an older city with unique buildings and a diverse population. Additionally, it is not overstructured like many planned communities are today. It is convenient to the freeways, is close to area attractions and provides access to the best parts of Southern California.
